Marilyn's clients attribute their breakthrough increased PEP (Performance, Effectiveness, and Profitability, and/or Peace, Energy, and Prosperity) to their coaching with Marilyn.  For 30+ years, she has facilitated development through coaching, counseling, training, writing; teaching at universities, ILCT (a coach training program), and in Brazil.  Marilyn is a Master Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation.   Affectionately nicknamed the Velvet Hammer for her gentle strength, Marilyn's warmth, humor, integrity, and excellent communication skills put people at ease.  She provides a secure foundation while challenging clients to be their best, producing sustained results.

Recent contracts include executive coaching for international firms based in the US, Environmental Protection Agency leaders, university and hospital leaders teaching Organizational Behavior and International Business in Hong Kong and Malaysia (Ottawa University), and helping launch a college mentoring program. A leader herself, Marilyn’s work is oriented around her life purpose, to Renew, Discover, and Develop.  She practices continual learning and development.

A contributor, an honorary member of the UK College of Life Coaching, a (past) member of Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals, Marilyn has also been nominated for Great Women of the 21^st Century.  Marilyn’s coaching company has been a nominee for the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year for 3 years, as well as a candidate for Kansas City Small Business Monthly’s 25 under 25 (employees) award. Marilyn published an inspiring email newsletter for four years.  Her “Renewing Your Spirit” column ran in kcmag.com, her career columns in The Kansas City Star, and her features have appeared in The Brazil Herald/Latin American Daily Post, and other publications.  She has published a Renewing Your Spirit workbook, available on her website.

Marilyn’s credentials make her a leader among coaches and presenters.  With her behavioral science background and extensive training, she quickly assesses a situation and co-develops a plan to take her clients to the next level.   Marilyn was educated at Southern Methodist University (BA with honors, Texas and Spain), and the University of Kansas (MSW), with postgraduate training in coaching through the Institute for Life Coach Training; systems theory (two year program); forty hours of mediation through the Kansas Bar Association; thirty hours at the Intercultural Communication Institute; and leadership exchanges.  She is credentialed as a Master Certified Coach (representing over 2000 hours of coaching, 200 hours of training, and passing oral and written exams) through the International Coach Federation, and is a Coachville member.

Personally, Marilyn models a balanced life, and is passionate about God, people she holds dear, and her work.   Marilyn's commitment to others includes donating 10% of her income, currently to Young Life Ministries, donating 1 month of coaching to charitable auctions, and serving in her professional organization. Her commitment to the environment is demonstrated through recycling, limiting energy/water usage, and seeking a home where she can walk rather than drive.
